My Latest Book

Bihu is an agricultural festival celebrated three times in a year. These folk traditions are several millenium old. Bihu is an important cultural heritage of Assam and Assamese people. Essays included in this book have analysed the traditions, performing arts, crafts, social practices, rituals etc related to the Bihu festival. Edited by Dr Sanjib Kumar Borkakoti and published by Purbayon Publication, this scholarly work presents an in-depth exploration of Bihu’s significance as an intangible cultural heritage. 

The book features detailed discussions from international experts supporting Bihu’s inclusion in UNESCO’s Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritages.
